Loitering munitions, also known as "suicide drones" or "kamikaze drones," are a type of weapon system that combines the capabilities of a drone and a missile. These munitions can loiter (fly or hover) in a target area for an extended period before being directed to strike a specific target, either by a human operator or autonomously. If no suitable target is found, they can return or self-destruct. They are used for precision strikes, particularly in environments where targets may be mobile or difficult to locate.
